BEN MURPHY
CEO
Ben completed a BSC Honors in Building Surveying and began his working life with NHS Estates before moving into private practice. Initially he specialised in disability adaptation works and asbestos management as well as project management and contract administration for many years before establishing Roofing Technologies in 2012 with Paul Fry. He has extensive experience in project and commercial
management. Outside of work he is a keen snow sports fan, loves to ride his motorcycles and travel.
JIM SHILL
Managing Director
Jim completed a Masters degree in Project Management & Construction and has gained over 20 years experience within the construction industry. His expertise within project management and as a principal designer have been used on many large scale projects. He is client focussed, skilled at value engineering & sustainability with a demonstrated history of working in the architecture and planning industry. Outside of work he has a love of the great outdoors, especially mountain biking and swimming.
CHRIS EDWARDS
Contract Manager
Chris has been working with us since 2013 and has many years practical experience working on roofing projects. He has completed the Site Managers Safety training scheme and has a proven ability to effectively manage large scale projects. He is also an approved installer across many types of roofing and cladding products.
Outside of work he is a keen sports fan, having represented both Swansea and Wales as a youth. He enjoys motorbikes and spending time with his family. Chris is also a fluent Welsh speaker.
STEWART BRITTON
Director - Roofing
Stewart joined RTL Group at the start of 2024. His interest in design and engineering saw him enter the construction industry over 20 years ago, the last 18 of which he has focussed on roofing design and specification, having held a number of senior positions with some of the worlds leading roofing manufacturers.
He has held the position of South West Regional Vice Chair of the Institute of Roofing since 2019, the UK's only professional development body. Outside of work he is a keen cyclist, motorcyllist and winter sports fanatic.
GEOFF ANDREWS
Director - Construction
Geoff has been working alongside RTL Group for a number of years but officially joined the business in 2024. He has over 40 years experience within the construction industry, having started when he left the Royal Navy in 1986. A carpenter by trade he progressed within the industry to site and contract management, working with many high street retailers and the petroleum industry. He then moved into refurbishment for the NHS and commercial and residential properties. In his spare time Geoff will be found in the countryside with his dogs.
SUE MURPHY
Business & Marketing Manager
Sue started working with RTL Group in 2021, with over 25 years experience in retail as a store manager, area manager and regional manager and having recently completed a CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing. This allowed her to transition from a retail management role into a marketing role, bringing her management skill set alongside her newly acquired marketing knowledge to the business. Outside of work she enjoys travelling, walking, snow sports and is a passionate rugby league fan.
